I once used the Korean Masks to illustrate a presentation about another author's work.  George Ostrom urged writers to mentally don masks so that they could view their work with different eyes, the eyes of mask donned.  By doing so, a writer can see weaknesses and strengths of the work as perceived by various readers.  This presentation introduces the metaphor with music, images, and a few quotes.
